में मुँह से साँस लें, साँस लेते समय ऐसा अनुभव करें
कि प्राण मूलाधार से आज्ञाचक्र की ओर ऊपर की ओर अग्रसर हो रहा है।
- साँस
को जितनी देर तक आराम से रोक सकते
हैं, अन्दर रोकें। साथ ही जैसा श्लोक में
आँख, नाक, कान आदि अंगुलियों से बन्द करने को कहा गया है, वैसा
करें, खेचरी मुद्रा (जीभ को उल्टा करके तालु से लगाना) के साथ
अर्ध जालन्धर बन्ध लगाएँ (थोड़ा सिर इस प्रकार झुकाना कि ठोड़ी छाती को
स्पर्श न करे) और चेतना को आज्ञाचक्र पर टिकाएँ।
- सिर को सीधा करें और नाक से सामान्य ढंग से साँस छोड़ें।
- यह
एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे पाँच चक्र करने
चाहिए। प्रत्येक चक्र के बाद कुछ क्षणों तक
विश्राम करें, आँख बन्द रखें। अभ्यास के बाद थोड़ी देर तक शांत बैठें और चिदाकाश (आँख बन्द करने पर सामने दिखने वाला रिक्त स्थान)
को देखें। इसमें दिखायी पड़ने वाले रंग से सक्रिय तत्त्व की पहिचान करते
हैं, अर्थात् पीले
रंग से पृथ्वी, सफेद
रंग से जल, लाल रंग से अग्नि,
नीले या भूरे रंग से वायु और बिल्कुल काले या विभिन्न रंगों के मिश्रण से आकाश
तत्त्व समझना चाहिए।
जानुदेशे क्षितिस्तोयं पादान्ते मस्तके नभः।।156।।
अन्वय – वह्निः स्कन्धद्वये स्थितः प्रभञ्जनः नाभिदेशे क्षितिः जानुदेशे तोयं पादान्ते नभः (च) मस्तके।
भावार्थ – इस श्लोक में शरीर में पंचमहाभूतों की स्थिति बताई गयी है। अग्नि तत्त्व का स्थान दोनों कंधों में, वायु का नाभि में, पृथ्वी का जाँघों में, जल का पैरों में और आकाश तत्त्व का स्थान मस्तक में कहा गया है।
English Translation – Here in this verse, places of five Tattvas have been described. The place of Fire is in both shoulders, air in novel, earth in thighs, water in legs and ether in head.
माहेयं मधुरं स्वादे कषायं जलमेव च।
तीक्ष्णं तेजस्समीरोSम्ल आकाशं कटुकं तथा।।157।।
अन्वय – स्वादे माहेयं मधुरं जलं कषायं च तेजः तीक्ष्णं समीरोSम्लं आकाशं कटुकं तथा।
भावार्थ - इस श्लोक में पंच महाभूतों के स्वाद के विषय में चर्चा की गयी है। पृथ्वी का स्वाद मधुर, जल का कषाय, अग्नि का तीक्ष्ण, वायु का अम्लीय (खट्टा) और आकाश का स्वाद कटु बताया गया है।
English Translation – Tastes of five Tattvas have been indicated in this verse. Earth tastes sweet, water astringent, fire pungent, air acidic (sour) and ether tastes bitter.
अष्टङ्गुलं वहेद्वायुरनलश्चतुरङ्गुलम्।
द्वादशाङ्गुलं माहेयं वारुणं षोडशाङ्गुलम्।।158।।
अन्वय – वायुः अष्टाङ्गुलं वहेत् अनलश्च चतुरङ्गुलं माहेयं द्वादशाङ्गुलं वारुणं षोडशाङ्गुलम्।
भावार्थ – यहाँ श्वाँस में पंच महाभूतों के उदय के अनुसार इसमें (प्रश्वास) की लम्बाई में परिवर्तन की ओर संकेत किया गया है। जब साँस में वायु तत्त्व की प्रधानता या उसका उदय हो, तो प्रश्वास की लम्बाई आठ अंगुल, अग्नि तत्त्व के उदय काल में चार अंगुल, पृथ्वी तत्त्व के समय बारह अंगुल और जल तत्त्व के समय सोलह अंगुल होती है।
English Translation – Here it has been described that the length of breath differs as per appearance of Tattvas in it. At the time of appearance of air in the breath, the length of expiration becomes about six inches, fire’s appearance causes three inches length, earth nine inches and water twelve inches. No length of ether has been indicated.
उर्ध्वं मृत्युरधः शान्तिस्तिर्यगुच्चाटनं तथा।
मध्ये स्तम्भं विजानीयान्नभः सर्वत्र मध्यमम्।।159।।
अन्वय – यह श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ – जब स्वर का प्रवाह ऊपर की ओर हो, अर्थात स्वर में अग्नि तत्त्व प्रवाहित हो, तो मारण की साधना प्रारम्भ करना उचित है। स्वर की गति नीचे की ओर हो, अर्थात स्वर में जल तत्त्व का उदय काल शांतिपूर्ण कार्य के लिए उचित होता है। स्वर का प्रवाह यदि तिरछा हो, अर्थात वायु तत्त्व का उदयकाल हो, तो उच्चाटन जैसी साधना के प्रारम्भ के लिए उचित समय होता है। पर स्वर का प्रवाह मध्य में होने पर, अर्थात पृथ्वी तत्त्व के प्रवाह-काल में स्तम्भन सम्बन्धी साधना का प्रारम्भ ठीक होता है। लेकिन आकाश तत्त्व के उदय काल को मध्यम, अर्थात किसी भी कार्य के लिए अनुपयोगी बताया गया है।
English Translation – When the flow of breath is upward, i.e. during the flow fire in the breath, some can practice Marana Sadhana (a kind Tantric practice which is practised to kill the enemies), during the downward flow of breath, i.e. appearance of water in the breath, the work of peaceful nature should be preferred, angular flow of breath (appearance of air) is good for Uchchatana (a kind of Tantric Sadhana causes mental disturbances). When breath flows in the middle (during the appearance of earth), Stambhan Sadhana (this is also a kind of Tantric practice and it is performed to make someone immovable) should be performed. But the appearance of ether in the breath is of no use for any work other than Yogic practices.
पृथिव्यां स्थिरकर्माणि चरकर्माणि वारुणे।
तेजसि क्रूरकर्माणि मारणोच्चाटनेSनिले।।160।।
अन्वय – पृथिव्यां स्थिरकर्माणि वारुणे चरकर्माणि तेजसि क्रूरकर्माणि अनिले मारणोच्चाटने।
भावार्थ – पृथ्वी तत्त्व के उदय-काल में स्थायी प्रकृति के कार्य का प्रारम्भ श्रेयस्कर होता है, जल तत्त्व के समय अस्थायी कार्य, अग्नि तत्त्व के समय श्रम-साध्य कठिन कार्य तथा वायु तत्त्व के प्रवाह में मारण, उच्चाटन जैसे दूसरों को हानि पहुँचाने कार्य करने चाहिए।
English Translation – Period of appearance earth in the breath is auspicious to start any work of permanent nature, during the appearance of water we should prefer to start the work of temporary nature, hard work should be always preferred during the appearance of fire and work for harming others should be preferred during the appearance of air, like practice of Marana, Uchchatana.
व्योम्नि किञ्चिन्न कर्तव्यमभ्यसेद्योगसेवनम्।
शून्यता सर्वकार्येषु नात्र कार्या विचारणा।।161।।
अन्वय - व्योम्नि किञ्चिन्न कर्तव्यम् योगसेवनम् अभ्यसेद् सर्वकार्येषु शून्यता नात्र कार्या विचारणा।
भावार्थ – आकाश तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल में कोई भी कार्य नहीं करना चाहिए। यह समय केवल योग का अभ्यास करने योग्य है। यह सभी कार्यों के परिणाम को शून्य कर देता है, अर्थात कोई फल नहीं मिलता। इसलिए योग साधना के अलावा और कोई कार्य करने के विषय में सोचना भी नहीं चाहिए।
English Translation – Period of appearance of ether in the breath is not advisable for any work other than spiritual practices. It has been stated that we should not think to do anything during this period. Because any work done during this period does not produce any fruitful results.

पृथ्वीजलाभ्यां सिद्धिः स्यान्मृत्युर्वह्नौ क्षयोSनिले।
नभसो निष्फलं सर्वं ज्ञातव्यं तत्त्ववादिभिः।।162।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है, अतएव अन्वय की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
भावार्थ – पृथ्वी और जल तत्त्वों के प्रवाह काल में प्रारम्भ किए कार्य सिद्धिदायक होते हैं, अग्नि तत्त्व में प्रारम्भ किए गए कार्य मृत्युकारक, अर्थात नुकसानदेह होते हैं, वायु तत्त्व में प्रारम्भ किए गए कार्य सर्वनाश करनेवाले होते हैं, जबकि आकाश तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल में शुरु किए गए कार्य कोई फल नहीं देते, ऐसा तत्त्ववादियों का मानना है।
English:- As per keen observation made by the wise men, the work started during the flow of earth and water in the breath gives positive result, whereas fire and air create miseries, but other gives no result.
चिरलाभः क्षितेर्ज्ञेयस्तत्क्षणे तोयतत्त्वतः।
हानिः स्यान्हि वाताभ्यां नभसो निष्फलं भवेत्।।163।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ:- पृथ्वी तत्व के प्रवाह काल में प्रारम्भ किये गये कार्य में स्थायी लाभ मिलता है, जल तत्व में दक्षिण लाभ मिलता है, अग्नि और वायु तत्व हानिकारक होते हैं और आकाश तत्व परिणामहीन होता है।
English:- In view of the above observation wiseman subject to start the work during flow of the earth in the breath if permanent result is desired; for temporary result, flow of water should selected. Flowing periods of the fire and air are always harmful and the work begin during the flow of other does not give any kind of result.
पीतः शनैर्मध्यवाही हनुर्यावद् गुरुध्वनिः।
कवोष्णः पार्थिवो वायुः स्थिरकार्यप्रसाधकः।।164।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ:- पृथ्वी तत्व का वर्ण पीला है। यह धीमी गति से मध्य में प्रवाहित होता है। इसकी प्रकृति हल्की और उष्ण है। ठोढ़ी तक इसकी ध्वनि होती है। इसके प्रवाह के दौरान किए गए कार्यों में भी स्थायी रूप से सफलता मिलती है।
English:- The earth tattva has yellow colour, it flows slow and in the middle of the air passage. It nature is light and hot. It sounds upto our chin. The flow of this tattva is auspicious for starting any work in which we need permanent result.
अधोवाही गुरुध्वानः शीघ्रगः शीतलःस्थितः।
यः षोडशाङ्गुलो वायुः स आपः शुभकर्मकृत।।165।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ:- जल तत्व श्वेत वर्ण का होता है। इसका प्रवाह तेज और नीचे की ओर होता है। इसके प्रवाह काल में साँस की आवाज अधिक होती है और इस समय साँस सोलह अंगुल (लगभग 12 इंच) लम्बी होती है। इसकी प्रकृति शीतल है। इसके प्रवाह काल में प्रारम्भ किये गये कार्य सफलता (क्षणिक) मिलती है।
English:- Water tattva has white colour. Its flow is fast and downwards. Sound is more prominent in the
breath during its flow. The length of breath during the appearance of water tattva in it, is sixteen fingers, i.e. about 12 inches. Its nature is cool. Any work started during the period gives positive result, but of temporary nature.
आवर्तगश्चात्युष्णश्च शोणाभश्चतुरङ्गुलः।
उर्ध्ववाहि च यः क्रूरः कर्मकारी स तेजसः।।166।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ:- अग्नि तत्व रक्तवर्ण है। यह घुमावदार तरीके से प्रवाहित होता है। इसकी प्रकृति काफी उष्ण है। इसके प्रवाह काल में साँस की लम्बाई चार अंगुल और ऊपर की ओर होती है। इसे क्रूरतापूर्ण कार्यों के लिए उपयोगी बताया गया है।
English:- Fire tattva got its colour like blood. During its appearance the breath flows in whirl. Its nature is very hot. The length of breath during the appearance of this tattva, becomes four fingers, i.e. about three inches, but upwards. The period of flow of this tattva in breath is suitable for starting the work of a cruel nature.
उष्णः शीतः कृष्णवर्णस्तिर्यगान्यष्टकाङ्गुलः।
वायुः पवनसंज्ञस्तु चरकर्मप्रसाधकः।।167।।
अन्वय:- वायु: पवनसंज्ञस्तु कृष्णवर्ण: तिर्यग्गामी उष्ण: शीत: अष्टकाड्ग़ुल: चर-कर्मप्रसाधकरश्च।
भावार्थ:- वायु तत्व कृष्ण वर्ण (गहरा नीला रंग) है, इसके प्रवाह के समय साँस की लम्बाई आठ अंगुल और गति तिर्यक (तिरछी) होती है। इसकी प्रकृति शीतोष्ण हैं। इस अवधि में गति वाले कार्यों को प्रारम्भ करने पर निश्चित रूप से सफलता मिलती है। परमपूज्य परमहंस सत्यानन्द सरस्वती जी महाराज ने इसके विषय में लिखा है कि भीड़-भाड़वाले प्लेटफार्म पर ट्रेन छूट रही हो और उसे पकड़ने के लिए आप दौड़ लगा रहे हैं। ऐसे समय में यदि स्वर में वायु तत्त्व वर्तमान हो, निश्चित रूप से आप ट्रेन पकड़ने में सफल होंगे।
English:- Vayu tattva (air) has dark blue colour. During its flow the breath becomes eight fingers (six inches) long and angular. Its nature is lukewarm. This period is suitable for starting a work relating to movement. Parama Pujaya Paramahansa Satyananada Saraswati has indicated that if you are running to catch a train at a crowded platform and Vayu Tattva is active at the time, you shall get into the train without fail.
यः समीरः समरसः सर्वतत्त्वगुणावहः।
अम्बरं तं विजानीयात् योगिनां योगदायकम्।।168।।
अन्वय - श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है, अतएव अन्वय करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
भावार्थ – जब स्वर में उक्त सभी तत्त्वों का संतुलन हो और उनके यथोक्त गुण उपस्थित हों तो उसे योगियों को मोक्ष प्रदान करनेवाला आकाश तत्त्व समझना चाहिए, अर्थात आकाश तत्त्व में अन्य चार तत्त्वों का संतुलन पाया जाता है और उनके गुण भी पाए जाते हैं तथा इसके प्रवाह काल किए गये योग-साधना में पूर्णरूप से सिद्धि मिलती है।
English – During the flow of ether in the breath all other four Tattvas get balanced and their properties, as described above, are found present in it. This period is the most suitable period for getting perfection in yogic practices.

पीतवर्णं चतुष्कोणं मधुरं मध्यमाश्रितम्।
भोगदं पार्थिवं तत्त्वं प्रवाहे द्वादशाङ्गुलम्।।169।।
अन्वय - पार्थिवं तत्त्वं पीतवर्णं चतुष्कोणं मधुरं मध्यमाश्रितम् भोगदं प्रवाहे (च) द्वादशाङ्गुलम्।
भावार्थ – पृथ्वी तत्त्व का पीला, वर्ग का आकार, मधुर स्वाद, गति मध्य और प्रवाह बारह अंगुल (लगभग नौ इंच) होता है। इसे भोग-विलास के लिए उपयुक्त बताया गया है।
English Translation – Prithvi Tattva has yellow colour, shape of square, sweet taste, motion in the middle and twelve fingers (about nine inches) length of breath during its appearance. It is considered to be suitable for worldly enjoyment.
श्वेतमर्धेन्दुसंकासः स्वादु काषायमार्द्रकम्।
लाभकृद्वारुणं तत्त्वं प्रवाहे षोडशाङ्गुलम्।।170।।
अन्वय - वारुणं तत्त्वं श्वेतमर्धेन्दुसंकासः स्वादु काषायमार्द्रकं लाभकृत् प्रवाहे षोडशाङ्गुलम्।
भावार्थ – जल तत्त्व का रंग श्वेत होता है, आकार अर्धचन्द्र की तरह, स्वाद कषाय और स्वभाव शीतल होता है। इसके प्रवाह काल में साँस की लम्बाई सोलह अंगुल (लगभग बारह इंच) होती है। यह हमेशा लाभकारी होता है।
English Translation – Jala Tattva got white colour, semi-circled moon shape, astringent taste and cool nature. The length of breath at its appearance becomes sixteen fingers (about 12 inches). It is always beneficial.
रक्तं त्रिकोणं तीक्ष्णं च उर्ध्वभागप्रवाहकम्।
दीप्तं च तेजसं तत्त्वं प्रवाहे चतुरङ्गुलम्।।171।।
अन्वय - तेजसं तत्त्वं रक्तं त्रिकोणं तीक्ष्णं च उर्ध्वभागप्रवाहकं दीप्तं च प्रवाहे चतुरङ्गुलम्।
भावार्थ – अग्नि तत्त्व का रंग लाल (रक्त जैसा लाल), आकार त्रिभुज, प्रवाह ऊपर की होता है। इस तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल में साँस की लम्बाई चार अंगुल (लगभग तीन इंच) होती है। इसकी प्रकृति गरम होती है और यह अशुभ कार्य का प्रेरक होता है तथा सदा अहितकर फल देता है।
English Translation – Agni Tattva got colour like blood, triangular shape and upward motion, length of breath, when this tattva appears in it, becomes four fingers (about three inches). Its nature is warm. It always inspires for inauspicious work and always gives harmful results.
नीलं ववर्तुलाकारं स्वादाम्लतिर्यगाश्रितम्।
चपलं मारुतं तत्त्वं प्रवाहेSष्टाङ्गुलं स्मृतम्।।172।।
अन्वय - मारुतं तत्त्वं नीलं ववर्तुलाकारं स्वादाम्लतिर्यगाश्रितं चपलं प्रवाहेSष्टाङ्गुलं स्मृतम्।
भावार्थ – वायु तत्त्व का रंग नीला, गोल आकार और अम्लीय स्वाद होता है। इसकी गति तिरछी होती है और इसके प्रवाह काल में साँस की लम्बाई आठ अंगुल (लगभग छः इंच)। इसकी प्रकृति चंचल होती है। इसके प्रवाहकाल में प्रारम्भ किये गये कार्य का परिणाम विनाशकारी होते हैं।
English Translation – Vayu Tattva has blue colour, circular shape and acidic taste. Its motion is angular and length of the breath while this appear in it becomes eight fingers (about six inches). The work started during its flow in the breath is always disastrous.
वर्णाकारं स्वादवाहे अव्यक्तं सर्वगामिनम्।
मोक्षदं नभसं तत्त्वं सर्वकार्येषु निष्फलम्।।173।।
अन्वय - नभसं तत्त्वं वर्णाकारं स्वादवाहे अव्यक्तं सर्वगामिनं मोक्षदं सर्वकार्येषु निष्फलम्।
भावार्थ – आकाश तत्त्व का रंग पहचानना कठिन होता है। यह स्वादहीन और प्रत्येक दिशा में गतिवाला होता है। यह मोक्ष प्रदान करता है। आध्यात्मिक साधना के अतिरिक्त अन्य कार्यों में कोई फल नहीं प्राप्त होता है।
English Translation – It is difficult to recognize the colour of Akash Tattva because of appearance of different colour simultaneously. It is tasteless and its motion is in all directions. It is enlightening, but gives no results in any work other than the spiritual practices.

पृथ्वीजले शुभे तत्त्वतेजो मिश्रफलोदयम्।
हानिमृत्युकरौ पुंसामशुभौ व्योममारुतौ।।174।।
अन्वय - पृथ्वीजले शुभे तत्त्वतेजो मिश्रफलोदयं पुंसां व्योममारुतौ हानिमृत्युकरौ अशुभौ (च)।
भावार्थ – पृथ्वी तत्त्व और जल तत्त्व कार्य आरम्भ करने के लिए शुभ होते हैं, अर्थात उनके परिणाम अच्छे होते हैं। अग्नि तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल में प्रारम्भ किए गए कार्य का परिणाम मिला-जुला होता है। जबकि वायु तत्त्व और आकाश तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल में कार्य के आरम्भ के परिणाम हानि और सर्वनाश से भरे बताए गए हैं।
English Translation – Any work started during the flow of Prithvi Tattva and Jala Tattva in the breath, gives good results and when the same is started during the flow of Agni Tattva, it gives mixed results. But start of work during the flow of Vayu and Akash Tattvas gives harmful and miserable results.
आपूर्वपश्चिमे पृथ्वीतेजश्च दक्षिणे तथा।
वायुश्चोत्तरदिग्ज्ञेयो मध्ये कोणगतं नभः।।175।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ – इस श्लोक में तत्त्वों की दिशाओं के संकेत किए गए हैं। पृथ्वी तत्त्व पूर्व और पश्चिम दिशा में, अग्नि तत्त्व दक्षिण में, वायु तत्त्व उत्तर में और आकाश तत्त्व मध्य में कोणगत होता है।
English Translation – Here in this verse, relations of Tattvas to the directions have been indicated, i.e. Prithvi Tattva is related to the east and west, Agni Tattva to the south, Vayu Tattva to the north and Akasha Tattva to the meeting points of the directions.
चन्द्रे पृथ्वीजलैयातांसूर्येSग्निर्वा यदा भवेत्।
तदा सिद्धिर्न सन्देहः सौम्यासौम्येषु कर्मसु।।176।।
अन्वय - चन्द्रे पृथ्वीजले याते सूर्येSग्निर्वा यदा भवेत् सौम्यासौम्येषु कर्मसु तदा सिद्धिः, न (अत्र) सन्देहः।
भावार्थ – जब चन्द्र स्वर में पृथ्वी अथवा जल तत्त्व अथवा सूर्य स्वर में अग्नि तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल में प्रारम्भ किए गए सभी प्रकार के कार्यों में सिद्धि मिलती है, इसमें कोई सन्देह नहीं, अर्थात् इस अवधि में प्रारम्भ किए गए शुभ, अशुभ, स्थायी या अस्थायी सभी कार्य सफल होते हैं।
English Translation - When Prithvi Tattva or Jala Tattva appears in the left nostril or flow of Agni Tattva in the right nostril, it is good to start any kind of work auspicious, inauspicious, permanent or temporary, as it always gives good results beyond doubts.
लाभः पृथ्वीकृतोSह्नि स्यान्निशायां लाभकृज्जलम्।
वह्नौ मृत्युः क्षयो वायुर्नभस्थानं दहेत्क्वचित्।।177।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ – जब दिन में पृथ्वी तत्त्व और रात मे जल तत्त्व प्रवाहित हो तो निश्चित रूप से लाभ होता है। अग्नि तत्त्व का प्रवाह काल किसी कार्य के लिए मृत्युकारक कहा गया है और वायु तत्त्व का प्रवाह काल सर्वनाश का कारक। आकाश तत्त्व का प्रवाह काल कोई परिणाम नहीं देता।
English Translation – Flow of Prithvi Tattva during the day and Jala Tattva during the night is always auspicious and beneficial. Flow of Agni Tattva is stated to be death causing and Vayu Tattva gives miseries. Akash Tattva is always without any result.
जीवितव्ये जये लाभे कृष्यां च धनकर्मणि।
मन्त्रार्थे युद्धप्रश्ने च गमनागमने तथा।।178।।
अन्वय – दोनों श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में हैं, अतएव अन्वय की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
भावार्थ - समझने की सुविधा को ध्यान में रखते हुए यहाँ दोनों श्लोकों को एक साथ लिया जा रहा है।
जीवन, जय, लाभ, खेती, मंत्र, युद्ध एवं यात्रा के सम्बन्ध में प्रश्न पूछे जाने पर उस समय प्रवाहित होने वाले तत्त्व को समझना चाहिए और तदनुरूप उत्तर देना चाहिए। जल तत्त्व के समय शत्रु का आने की संभावना होती है। पृथ्वी तत्त्व का काल शुभ होता है, अर्थात शत्रु पर विजय का संकेतक है। वायु तत्त्व के प्रवाह काल को शत्रु का पलायन समझना चाहिए। लेकिन वायु तत्त्व और आकाश तत्त्व के समय हानि तथा मृत्यु की अधिक संभावना रहती है।
English Translation – Here both the verses have been taken together for better comprehension.
In case questions pertaining to life, victory, farming, mantra, war and journey are asked, we must be aware of presence of the Tattva in the breath at the time before giving answers. Presence of Jala Tattva indicates arrival of the enemy, Prithivi Tattva indicates auspiciousness or victory over enemy or opposite party and Vayu Tattva indicates running away by enemies. But presence of Agni and Akasha Tattvas always indicate loss and death.
पृथीव्यां मूलचिन्ता स्याज्जीवनस्य जलवातयोः।
तेजसा धातुचिन्ता स्याच्छून्याकाशतो वदेत्।।180।।
अन्वय – श्लोक अन्वित क्रम में है।
भावार्थ – इस श्लोक में मन में उदित होने वाले विचारों के द्वारा तत्त्वों को पहचानने की विधि का संकेत किया गया है। जब मन में भौतिकता से संबंधित विचार उठ रहे हों, तो समझना चाहिए कि उस समय पृथ्वी तत्त्व प्रवाहित हो रहा है, अर्थात स्वर में पृथ्वी तत्त्व की प्रधानता है। जब खुद के विषय में विचार उठें, तो जल तत्त्व अथवा वायु तत्त्व की प्रधानता समझनी चाहिए। अग्नि तत्त्व की प्रधानता होने पर मन में धातुजनित धन सम्बन्धी विचार उठते हैं। पर आकाश तत्त्व की प्रधानता के समय व्यक्ति का मन लगभग विचार-शून्य होता है।
English Translation – How to recognize presence of Tattvas in breath by observing appearance of thoughts has been described in this verse. If thoughts regarding physical property arise in the mind, we should understand that Prithvi Tattva is active in the breath. Thought of self indicates presence of Jala Tattva or Vayu Tattva. Thought of metallic property or treasure suggests presence Agni Tattva. Thoughtless state of mind indicates presence of Akasha Tattva.
